Hey Guys,

After searching around, I've only been able to find information for Window's 7 users and since I wasn't - my hardware happened to be bought around the same time as when Window's 7 came out so if anyone could redirect me if something like this was made before, that'd be a great help!

My comp specs:

Operator: Window's XP 32bit
Motherboard: EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI (x16/x16/x8) LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

All of the above had been bought August 2009 so everything is relatively new. And I still have Window's XP.

During the first half year nothing had happened and starting around February 2010, I started running into countless blue screens of death problems indicating "A fatal hardware error has occurred. " After the restart, it goes to "Verifying Pool Data" it would either take a long time before saying "Disk Boot Failure, Please Insert Boot Disk" or something about Ctrl Alt Del to restart will pop up right away. After that, I have to shut off the computer for over an hour just so it would start up normally again because even if it was 15-30 minutes, the same problem will occur. If that didn't happen, then I'd get stuck on the EVGA logo screen where everything just decides to freeze before it starts.

I was told by some others at first that it might have something to do with the hard drive or the memory. I switched the memory around in different orders - at first it looked like it was doing better but then it went back to the same o ways. So before I went to do an RMA on my memory, I went and bought a new hard drive to see if that may have been the problem. Turns out that wasn't the problem as I still got the blue screens so it had nothing to do with the hard drive. I then went on to getting an RMA on my memories. After a couple of weeks, the new memory came in and everything ran smoothly - only for about 2-3 weeks - then the blue screens came back after starting up my computer.

Right after I turn on my computer, after everything loads to my desktop, it'd probably take about 5 minutes before a blue screen pops up indicating the same message as before "A fatal hardware error has occurred. " Strangely enough, it only happens about twice after each start up and afterwards, nothing else would happen. So I thought maybe that was what I had to live with and dealt with having 2 blue screens appear after each start up.

About 3-4 days again, the issues had been getting worse. Recently, I've been facing loads of the blue screens of death as well as freezing issues that had never occurred before. Once again, not only was it the blue screens but now I'm stuck on the eVGA logo screen like I did before. I'd have to shut off everything and wait half an hour just to get back on it for half an hour.

But this time I can for sure say that it has nothing to do with the hard drive or the memory. I'm not too familiar with computers but I think it may have something to do with the hard drive or the graphic card now.

I just sent in an RMA request for the hard drive.

Does any know if there may be some compatibility problems between the the hardware or how to fix this problem? I've even ran a memory test and it said that everything was fine. I'm also a gamer if that might help out.

EDIT: I jumped on my laptop so below is what the blue screen says:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver i identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adatpers.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advance Startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

hey again guys,

so i was told by evga to download and install their newest bios as some already mentioned. I went step by step with what they had on their site but for some reason now when i go to the boot cd, this is what I see...anyone know what this means?
"Verifying DMI pool data.....
Boot from CD :

NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart"

what's ntldr?

Probably because the boot cd isn't a bootable device the way you're running it.

If you go into bios, there may be an option in there to flash the bios
Or it'll be a hotkey

I don't think you want to run the CD as a boot device though for flashing the bios

Example: on this asus board, if I want to flash the bios, I put the new bios file on a cd or flash drive.. then reboot and go into bios and start "ez bios flash", it then asks me where the file is.. so I direct it to the cd or the flash drive, and it takes the file I burned and goes with that.

The boot sector code on the boot hard disk drive is looking for NTLDR which is used to load Windows XP. Is the correct hard disk drive being specified as the first hard disk drive in the CMOS Setup Utility?

since i wasnt able to install that bios from evga..some reason it wont read from cd and the flash drive cant be created...i finally got to reinstall windows...again. got to install the memtest86 but i dont know what i'm suppose to look at...

anyone know how this works? sorry I'm such a newbie at this stuff.

The problem is the hard drive is likely overheating to such extreme temperatures causing the magnets on the head to fail. Those velocity raptors can get extremely hot if not well ventilated. I would suggest to buy a 120mm fan for 10 bucks and put it behind the hard drives and see if you continue to have problems.

If the problems do go away I would recommend that you run a hard drive diagnostic which is downloaded from WD website and see if there are any errors. RMA if there are any errors.

Bottom line - hard drive over heating and failing.

Heys I've ran a wd test on my hard drive before and it stated that everything was ok and it was not overheating. Does anyone have a quick explanation on for to read thee memtest? Maybe I can pay up the results

I'll assume you're using Memtest86+ V4.10 (04/05/2010).

After you let memtest run through the full cycle of tests there should be a zero in the Errors column if your memory modules are working fine.

If there is a non-zero value in the Errors column then you have a defective memory module which you need to RMA.

ok i see the problem ok yes most harware errors are do to incompatable ram but since u had it in ther for like a year and it still ran fine it not ur ram its probley nothing to do with hardware in ur computer its probley something u installed than unstalled thats most likley ur problem since u had eveything running for about a year that or it could be ur ram someram only last so long i knwo but sometimes thay get a shock or something and than thay dont work as good or when u use passed so much of amontlike say idel u use 1gb of ram when u hit 2gd of ram win ur palying a game or something hardware error but the most commen is ram and software for some reason them 2 hate eatherbut what i would do if i was u reinstall windows xp or vista or 7 what ever u want and see if it happens agane and if it dose pull 1 stick at a time till its stable and u find out of its the ram or somehting u did the best place i found to find ram is google memory 4 all and call them life time warrents and granted to work

ok this mite be easer for u get in to ur bios and do a default contralls it will reset eveything to nomal or factory spec and run it a lil and see what happens if u dont see ur problem with in 2 hrs than it took care of it if ur problem is still there than i dont knwo because i never overclocked ram before but if u sent it to factory spec than eveything should go back to nomal like u just bart it or built it

note to eveyone that has a asusp4p800-se thay are great board no dote for a singel cose but please please note dont put a thik or perment trmale grease on it trust me i work on one for about 2 mnths it wasnt mind he put his grease on it so this when i waned to upgread to a 3.4e and u pulled the heat sink off it the processor riped out becaus ethe grease was so thike u ony need maybe 3 size pice of rice or sometimes 4 bepend how big of a serfice on the rpocessor u have no more no less if u need to spread it it around with reather a c tit or a teeth pick and mont the ehat sink agane but whip it off frist with one rubbing alcoha than whip with a damp closth than whipe with a dry cloth if u need to clean the processor east way i see is c tip or a riped shart like a old a shart rap it aorund ur finger and have at it

well if u are haveing ram error or hard ware error rember u have to get the same type of ram so if ur running ddr 400 unbuffed than that what u run only knwo if u say u get one that ddr 266 and ddr 400 and u put the togather u will have ram errors it has to be the same and rember most hard ware errors are do eather to ram video card or sometype of software ur running knwo if u had the computer running for 6 months than the problem comes up iu knwo it not a hardware error well 90% of the time nots no it sjust a pice of software u stuck in and unstalled it if ur computer is frezzing it could be 2 things 1 hard drives if u hair 1 clicking when starting up or shuting down than fine nomal if u hair nothing starting up or shuting down than thats nomal if u hair a clicking nose when ur just running it afer 4 hrs and it click and than u frezz or lag than its a hard drive sometime it could also be a lack of power me im running a 550 delbo tek psu on the 12+ ral 26 amps i can find that on tigher d and u wil have plinty of power if not that check fo lifted compasters or poped or cracked or licking compasters if u ahve that than yellow pages talk to a tv repair man thay can hook u up an fix it if ur vidoe card dont come on check it with a vidoe card that works and still dont work u can eatehr cut ur losses or by a 4 didiet post tester off ebay 20 buck that or it could not be getiting the right volts to the vidoe card well besid ethat problme solved

well ur right it could be that but it could be to much power or not a noff if ur lacking power the computer will lag and frezz ware it dont hatt if u hit ctrl alt + delete it wont unfrezz at all to much lets say u jump from a 250 to a 750 watt psu i have i have see ware computer will shut down so it dont do any more harm than it all ready did and if it ur psu and ur running a 450 pasu jump to a 550 and it that dont do it 650 dont go up big u just need it to be stable less if ur planing on putting more fans and stuff in it

its mostley not a hard drive probelm ok when u start ur computer ahd u hair 1 click fine and when u shout down ur computer u hair one click fine thats nomal but when u are running ur computer lets say 4 hr than it click and it frezzs than u have a problem time u time to rma and if u dont have a warrent on it newegg or tigher d but most of the time if u thinks it ur memory just pull ur sticks out and in the copper side wipe it with ur finger and if its still not acting right than go to google type in mamory 4 all and find ur make and model and if u cant call tham there ram is 100% compatable life time warrent and free shipping a lil expince but well woth it

it's all the thing's I've posted that's been happening..

Update:
Not only do I get the Lalalalalalala
My SATA 0: BzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBzBz

I think my comp's seriously messed up now..

I have an evga x58 classified 3x sli e760 A1, i7 920, and 2 6GB OCZ Gold 1600 kits, an ultra x4 1050W PSU which I purchased and assembled around january of this year, and I have had problems after problems. I bought win7 pro with the pc and have reinstalled windows so many times that after the first month I have to call in to activate windows every time now. I have been in the forums and tried all types of configs, raid 0, raid 1, no raid, 1 hdd, 2 hdd, one evga gtx260, or 2 in sli and yet I have had more bsod's than you can shake a stick at. I swapped the board out within the 30 day period from the store and still to this day have issues. My last windows reload I decided to do a dual boot config and see how it acts with xp 32bit, and about a week after the install I started getting the lalalalalalalala issue on my sata port 0. I just got an ultra psu tester today and I am getting ready to test my psu just to see. My next option if that checks out is to get me another mobo, and it will definately NOT be an evga! I am probably going to get a base model asus, or maybe an intel as the prices are much more resonable than the 300$ I paid for the evga classified pos, and since I am no longer doing any OC'ing or even running sli a base model should be just fine as I am getting it just so I can use it for trouble shooting purposes. It is a shame when you pay the kind of money we pay for the high end stuff only to be crushed and defeated with issue after issue. Kinda hoping its the psu so I can get ultra to replace it as it has a lifetime warranty and I have'nt even had it for a year yet, cuz if I had to buy another psu that would cost more than a stinking mobo! Geez isnt technology sooooo wonderful!
