Blue screen when computer starts, causing it to restart over and over

Hello,

I am having a strange problem with my girlfriends computer.. When I turn it on, it goes to the Acer screen, and then the Windows loading screen. A few seconds into startup, the computer flashes a blue screen for a split second (impossible to read), then restarts. It is doing this over and over again. Any suggestions?

Boot into safe mode - Select disable auto restart on system error.
This will disable the restart so you can record the stop code, and research it on a working computer. Good luck.

I have the exact same problem when trying to boot in safe mode as well unfortunately

Well, if there are no Windows or restore disks to boot from to repair the OS, you will have to obtain (maybe a friend's) Vista CD, or Rescue CD to boot from.
