Blue screen

Hello,
My friend has a HP laptop, Windos 7. When he boots up he gets a solid Blue Screen with no access to anything at all. It just remains Blue. Can anyone help. Thanks

I have not heard of this Win DOS that you speak of. lol.

If its just a solid blue screen, no text, no error codes... then he probably needs to buy a new laptop. What does he see as he boots up?

if you remove the hard drive, can you get into BIOS?
