[SOLVED] blue sn55 ssd disappeared

I have a X570 gaming X motherboard. I installed a 1TB WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD in the second slot. I put my GOG games on there and all worked fine. Suddenly the GOG game links went white (ie blank) and clicking on it brings up a problem with shortcut and i quickly realised my blue SN550 ssd is no longer listed when checking storage in settings or device manager. please help.

test it on another slot? could have failed.
