Blue yeti isn't being detected

I just purchased a blue yeti and when I plug it in the red light appears on the mute button but the mic is not detected ANYWHERE. I've checked all ports and even updated motherboard drivers, when I try to install blue yeti drivers it says "device must be plugged in" PLEASE HELP
