bluetooth for windows 10

Solution
><

That was me not looking at what you downloaded originally. I just gave you an older driver...
right click start button
select control panel
uninstall a program
see if you can find the program you just installed - if its there, remove it.

other option is you can just reinstall the driver you linked to in first post

yeah, this isn't helping, sorry about that.

try this:

In windows,
Select settings
Devices
Bluetooth
If you have bluetooth it should start scanning for devices to connect with.

its probable the blue tooth icon isn't showing on your taskbar
if so, select more bluetooth options from the bluetooth page and under notifications, click the box next to show the bluetooth icon in the notification area
what brand is your pc and do you know its model?

chipset drivers are software that are designed to use the features of your motherboard, every computer has them. They let you use USB and control how your pc communicates with the parts in your pc.

The website of the motherboard manufacturers or pc manufacturer will have the device drivers for various windows operating systems

Blue tooth is rare on desktop motherboards but common on tablets and laptops
You cant take a bluetooth driver for Intel NUC and expect it to work on other motherboards or add in pci-e or mini pci-e cards

You were asked for make & model and intel PC is not enough information

Given the description this person gave for their computer, I think we need to make our response slightly more simple. Not all people who come here are technically minded. Or know anything about what is inside the pc.

Is your computer a laptop or a desktop pc?

Download and run this program: Speccy

when it loads, it will have a menu on left which lets you click on the individual parts of your pc, and the right hand side window shows the content of each choice.

It starts on the summary screen and it is here that we need you to tell us the name that shows under the motherboard Heading - the full line as it starts with who made motherboard and should include the motherboards model as well.

Is this what you have?

http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/optiplex-5040-desktop/pd

did you order this in it: Optional wireless: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac + Bluetooth 4.1 card.

if you did, go here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/optiplex-5040-desktop/drivers
and under Network, get the 2nd driver called
Intel 8260/7265/3165/7260 Bluetooth Driver

You can use speccy to check if you have blue tooth. Click on the network button and in the right hand screen, scroll down until you reach Adapters list and if you have bluetooth, it should close to top of the list below.

I don't think you have blue tooth then.

If you ordered it and paid for it, you need to talk to Dell as I don't think its in there.

right click start button
select device manager
click on the arrow next to network adapters,
is there any blue tooth or wireless in there?

do you have any devices called Unknown?
