An ambitious deserves nothing if it does not deliver. Battle Cruiser
3000 was "ambitious" and was universally condemned by all and sundry.

I liked the idea of BP for a while *until* I started to read reviews
from posters here. It seems clear to me that the game is

a) Undecided as to what it is. RPG? FPS? Hybrid?
b) Unfinished.
c) Boring. Even Lewis' panty wetting outpouring failed to point anything
good about the game other than "mine shafts with boards across", a nice
UI and easy as hell driving physics. Not exactly inspiring stuff.

Having said that, there is a tendency to trash games in this NG (and I'm
not one of them I think) and I'll wait awhile longer to hear from some
posters whose opinion I might actually value.

It really is good. You should give it a try. All of the features that are in
the game actually do work. There are some gripes about its performance. It
really is a resource hog but if you have a meaty enough machine then you'll be
fine. There are some other issues with the AI path finding, evidenced by
pedestrians that will walk up to your parked car and stay there rather than
walking around it. When you get in and try to move off you kill them, or at
least knock them down, affecting you standing with the Civilians, one of the
factions in the game. Some have said it is similar to the GTA games. I would
say there is an element of truth to this but the world is much, much larger
and the missions appear to be more varied.

That's funny, I don't recollect saying that... pardon my senility...
or maybe your hallucinations. It first went ON SALE about a month

but did you buy it or not? Why don't you just admit you downloaded it and have
done with it?

That's not what I said. What I mean is that since you are no longer a current
player your words won't carry as much weight as someone who is playing it now.

You have made your comments pretty clear. You probably downloaded the game,
didn't like it, somehow managed to get 80% of the game completed in a couple
of days and presumably un-installed it. Time to move on buddy. But don't try
and make other people not like the game. You have your opinion, I have mine
and nothing you can say will make me not like it so why persist?

This coming from the man who buys mostly used games at bargain bin
prices : not one cent of which is realised by the games developers.

Laughable.

To point out the stupidity of your question: you have no way of
verifying his honesty.

Because there are other possibilities. Some of which are even
legitimate.

Sorry Kaos but they are his words, not mine! He said previously when I asked
where he got it and he said "I bought it of course!" and now he says he didn't
buy it. Either way he is a liar by his own admission.

Its not theft though is it. Do you also laugh at people who buy used cars
rather than new ones?

Because if for instance a new patch is released that makes changes to the way
the game works, his comments will no longer be based on fact. Only on what he
has previously experienced. But the fact of the matter is he just doesn't like
the game. Time to move on I think.

I never said it was theft : the point was JL harping on about how the
developers dont benefit.

In addition : big difference. With a car it has a visible presence :
marketing. After sales parts & care : it keeps an industry. Used games
don't.

Ok well I don't see how that invalidates his opinions. That would only
invalidate something he said if it was actually addressed in a patch.
