Boost a neighbors wifi

Yes one of my friends has a house up north that we occasionally visit but his parents have never invested in paying for internet cause they are not there enough. His neighbor has a wireless router but is often away on business trips. He has given us access to his router to use but we want to know if there is a way to boost the wifi from my friends house to increase the signal strength

Get a high-gain antenna and/or a bi-directional RF amplifier.
