My PC has 2 internal hard drives(C&D) and 2 external USB hard drives.
On drive(D) is Windows XP. How do I set the BIOS to boot only from that drive (D) and not try to boot from another drive. The only option is to set the booting order to boot from 'Hard Drive' first but not a specific hard drive. ie Drive D. but If I press F12 , I can set it to boot from D drive and it does but I have to repeat the procedure every time I want to boot up which is ridiculous.

Solution

Every bios has different interface, in my case if i want to boot ubuntu i have to set drive order first and then set boot manager, save and restart.
I suggest you find drive order, then do boot order, and the important thing it should be save option for bios setting. There is strange if there no save option available.
Yes. I press F10 as advised to save. But, with respect I can't save after pressing F12 (not in BIOS) there is no option to save that I can see. It is only after pressing F12 at start up that I am able to select my D drive to boot up with which I can't do in the BIOS. Since in BIOS I am only given the option of 'Hard drive' not Drive D
