Boot device led stays red

Hello i had problem with windows and decided to plug out and then plug in my ssd and hdd cables and now.. now im stucked at Asus loading screen i mean there is "Asus in search of incredible" please press del or f2 to enter uefi bios setting.. there is also boot device led on, motherboard is asus z170-a.

Go into bios and select your boot device (disk you have the OS installed on). Save and quit.

Oh, most important im stucked at this screen and cant get to bios

yea..that was a vital thing to know. did it turn back on automatically when you plugged it back in?

Unplug the powercord. Wait 10 - 15 sec and try to go into bios then.

Still nothing i also see that mouse and keyboard are not even flashing, also tried removing battery

And after plugging it back the problem occured im sure everything is connected fine

Turn off and unplug the power cord again..
The go over EVERY plug in the case, Molex, Sata, 4-pin, PCIe, 24 PIN... Everything that is plugged somewhere. And make sure nothing has come loose or something.

if that's the case then you most likely killed something by unplugging as computer that was running. you probably corrupted your SSD drive by doing that

^ I don't think that is the case. Hard drive dying wouldn't be related to him not being able to get into BIOS. BIOS is stored on a chip within the mothrboard. Not the hard drive.

Maybe the issue is simplier then we think.

Is it possible the BIOS is just not registering the keyboard commands? Have you tried another USB port for the keyboard? How old is your system? Some older systems wont even allow USB keyboard to interact with the BIOS and you need to use a PS2 keyboard?

You said there was two options. F2 and Del. Does it respond to any of those commands? Can you access any other commands such as F6 or F8? (common boot commands).

Try tapping either of those before you get to the "press f2 or del" screen. Basically continuously press one of those keys are a restart.

And do make sure there is nothing laying in such a way that you create a short cut, since I also know that, that can also create this problem.

Hello i`ve tried other usb ports and no luck i think everything is connected correctly, will try with another keyboard , what else can it be?

Does your motherboard support PS2 ports? If it does, it most likely needs to use that type of keyboard.

I think yes but it was working with usb port previously, there is the same situation even when no drive is connected

Ok but you said you did a BIOS reset correct? or even if not something with that upgrade could have effected it It could have reverted the BIOS to its factory firmware which may not be compatible with that via USB. The newer firmware may have allowed for USB functions.

Try it with a PS2 keyboard.

I've delivered my pc to a pc shop tomorrow they ll tell me what is wrong i think, i ll keep my post updated and thanks for help

Update: Controller of disks on mobo was corrupted, but will pick it by warranty, thanks for help to everyone.
