Boot device/ media, reinstalling Win10

Solution

From a different, functional system, create a DVD or USB install media.

If you have downloaded Windows 10 from Microsoft's official website, then you have probably got .iso file now, right? Now you need to burn it to a DVD or USB and make one of those a bootable device. You can burn it to a DVD using ImgBurn, for example. Then you simply restart your PC with the DVD still inside and watch for the "Press any key to boot from device..." or something similar to appear. Press anything and you'll enter Windows installation setup.

Alternatively, if you haven't downloaded anything yet:

There is an official tool (from Microsoft) to do this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

All the instructions and answers to most of your questions regarding the creation of a bootable media and installation of Windows can be found on the website linked above.

That's likely helpful except the PC REMAINS on the screen requesting I ... Insert bootable disk, media and I cannot escape it. I have no bootable CD,media, or method to get online on this PC..Please Advise

Again, ALL PC WILL DO IS..Show that message of download media and hit any screen on a BSD So how the fudge can I download your advice when it will Not allow any access to any other screen?? Any advice is welcomed!

I am not sure how you got there, to be honest. Did you try to boot your PC without any OS? How exactly did you try to reinstall your Windows?

If you don't have an OS on your hard drive, then you cannot really use your PC properly. You must have an OS burned to a bootable media (CD/DVD/Thumb drive) if you want to install it.

If that's the case (that you don't have an OS installed anymore), then you'll have to do the burning on another PC, unfortunately.

As shared in my 1st post, my OS disappeared with the BSD and the media message after DC 'g my SSD and HDD that were connected on same SATA cable but never seen by my PC. Thinking one cable per drive was the answer and single SATA cables HHD the BSD came up and here I am. Win 10 dwnldd at MSN site w/ my tag bought with Win10 and at MSN site, never any CD received.

OK now that's making better workable sense..TY for all your answers, links, and help. Though I ran this newly built PC w/ Win 10 since August of 2016 the 1ST HDD could never be used and only had access to the OS's drive the 450G SSD. This is why the Black SD and media download statement there on it were so confusing. Thanks again.
