Boot Disk Problem

I was updating my windows 8 PC to windows 10, and all of a sudden the monitor went blank, waited for half an hour and it did not come up. I made the mistake of switching it off and on. Only for that moment the system refuses to boot; it only displays a statement(in a black screen and white lettering) saying check your cable connection and also no boot disk detected or the disk has failed. What can I do to get my system working?

Solution
Take that disk to another computer or connect to a computer with working OS and re-partition it to one partition and formatted to NTFS. While you are at it, make that partition active.
