I just upgraded to an ssd and installed windows onto there. Got it all working, installing drivers and all except when i plugged the old hard drive back in that also had windows on it, i got an error saying "reboot and select proper boot device". I changed the priority of boot drives to ssd first and hard drive second and got the same problem. Any way of getting out of this without formatting my old drive and losing its contents?

Thanks

Normally I would set it to boot first from the optical drive, second from the SSD, and NOT from anything else. I'm assuming you do not really want it to boot from the old HDD, so don't let it try.

I am assuming that, when you installed Windows on the SSD, it was the only storage device in the machine - that is, the old HDD was not connected at that time. Right?
