Question Boot from SATA disk on PCIe adapter

Hi all, I have an ASUS P6T mobo and a brand new SATA3 SSD. My motherboard supports only SATA2 so I'm badically bottlenecking my SSD.

I see on the web that for some bucks one can buy a PCIe adapter that have SATA3 ports. Although this seems very appealing, there seem to be some uncertainty about whether or not the SSD attached to the adapter can be used as the boot device. Do tou have any experience or advice about such a setup?

The 6Gbps SATA spec allows for up to 750MB/s of bandwidth, but the PCIe 2.0 x1 interface limits read/write speed to 500MB/s.

Whether 3rd party cards are bootable or not will be listed by the card manufacturer.

For example:
SYBA SY-PEX40039 2 Port SATA III PCI-e 2.0 x1 Card

Plus, this card is bootable

Thank you, so you think it should be feasible. I just need to search an adapter that explicitly says that it is bootable? I shouldn't have issues with mi P6T?

I see that PCIe 2,0 have 500MB/s per lane. My mobo has PCI 16x (16 lanes). Maybe I can find an adapter that uses at least two PCI lanes... 🤔
