OK, so I have finally installed 2 new SSDs (OCZ Agility 3 & Sold 3) and took out the old Spinpoint F3...

Unfortunately, I'm still getting a boot loop when I'm trying to do a clean install of the OS. I will have more time to play with it this weekend and try a few things out, but any ideas on what else could be causing this boot loop??

Just to inform on what I actually did this time around. I unplugged and drained the power out and waiting for all lights to fade on the MOBO and M I/O boards (held for about 2 mins). I then plugged back in and powered up and I hit F2 to enter the BIOS (BIOS A10) and I configured to boot from my DVD drive and saved/exit. PC restarted, post, booted from DVD drive, Windows loading files.......screen goes dark and Alienware boot screen comes back up, PC post, boots from DVD again, Windows loading files.......over and over again.

I have no idea what else can be causing this and am desperate for help. Any other thoughts guys?? Thanks again for your help.

Any here from NY wanna help me out in exchange for some beer?? haha.

Most probably the configuration of the sata controllers on the board best bet is to play with them AHCI configurable. Let us know if you need any further instructions. Also the 2 SSD'S are you raiding there configuration raid 0 for instance.

I am going to adjust these setting and go from there. I should have already tried that. My only concern would be, if I already installed the OS while BIOS was set one way (IDE/AHCI), can I still change it, or would I need to change the setting in the BIOS and then do a clean install?

It doesn't matter either way, as I have no problem doing a clean install, but I am just curious.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate the help..

Yes as far as i know you will need to reinstall he os if you are changing the read controllers, as far as my knowledge goes that would be correct. Heres an article you can read up on about AHCI its a bit out of date but is an interesting read.

I could not shake the boot loop bug, thus I decided to RMA the Motherboard and try another one as that was the only hardware that was changed and the boot loop started after I installed that board.

I am waiting for the new board and I will go from there.

In the mean time, I got impatient and found a good deal on 2x Sapphire 6950 w/ unlocked shaders & 6970 BIOS flashed. Looking forward to seeing how these do for me in CF.

Thanks for the input guys and I will be back to update once I put my rig back together again. I appreciate all the help. Now cross your fingers for me!
