Question Boot loop

Hi

not sure if this is the right place to ask for help however I cannot find a solution online. After having upgraded to windows 11 a few days ago I was changing some settings in msconfig where I think I set the wrong version of windows to my default boot option, not sure this is what caused this issue but is the only thing I can think of.

After restarting now I only get to the ASUS logo and my motherboard cycles through each colour and beeps once where I believe it is POSTing successfully, this repeats indefinitely unless I press f2 to get into the bios. I believe I have corrupted my boot manager not allowing me to boot into windows so I downloaded a windows install using the Windows 11 media creation tool to a USB drive and tried to boot from that however it does not show up as an option to boot from in the bios.

I have tried various solutions I saw online like enabling/disabling CSM however none are working for me. I bought my PC from PCS a few years ago and have never encountered a problem like this. I have a ASUS x570-F motherboard and I am on bios version 5031 , please let me know if any other information is needed.

I would really appreciated any help if someone can walk me through this as my PC is currently unusable.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Have you tried clearing your CMOS?

By this, do you mean you upgraded to Windows 11 using the internal upgrade path on Windows 10? If yes, you're advised to reinstall the OS after recreating the bootable USB installer for Windows 11.

My PSU is about 4 years old as I bought the pc in 2021 and my bios version is 5301. I haven't tried clearing my CMOS yet but I tried restoring default settings from within the bios settings. Yes I upgraded through the internal path on windows 10. Last I remember I was in the msconfig boot tab where there were two boot options and I switched the default windows version to the windows 11 one because I thought that was the correct one, not sure that is what cased the issue but most likely because after restarting I was stuck in the boot loop.

Managed to boot into windows from a new USB and change my default windows boot back, looks like the initial usb drive I used wasn't being detected for some reason. I believe I mistakenly set the wrong to default as I thought that was what I needed to use. I am not sure why my current boot is listed as windows 10 when I am using windows 11. Would appreciate if anyone could shed light on why it is like that, regardless I am glad to have resolved the issue.
