On my old pc i set a boot password. Meaning you need to type in a password in-order for the system to boot. My dad says this is a bio password is this true?
(i know the password by the way and i want to remove it.)

That is a BIOS password. And in most cases the password you enter there will be the same one used to remove it from the system. However, some BIOS manufacturers also allow for Admin and User BIOS passwords. If this is the case for your system, and if your password is the User password, you will be able to enter the BIOS but not make any changes other than the User password. The Admin password would be required to remove any other passwords or make any other changes.
The prompt will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, but yes in general as soon as you boot the PC you will have to input a password to continue the boot process. The user will not be able to enter the BIOS, OS, or any other feature without entering the correct password. The setting to do so is generally in a Security or Advanced section of the BIOS to create the password. To remove the password you generally enter the BIOS and set the password to an empty field.

This is what appears when i turn my pc on.
