Boot / SSD error?

Right, built my PC a while back, never really had more than the usual problems... But when I moved my tower upstairs and turned it on, it throws up the "reboot and select proper boot device" error.
No wires have been disconnected, I've checked and rechecked them all.
Tried a repair from the windows 7 disc I have and it sees both the drive and the installation.
The boot order is perfectly fine, fiddled with it but it still didn't work....
Maybe a motherboard error I thought but if anyone has other suggestions I'd really appreciate it before forking out for a new mobo.
Mobo is asus m5a97
Drive is Samsung 840 evo ssd 120gb

Make sure your ssd is set for the boot drive in BIOS.Have you tried using a different sata port for the ssd?

Yep, tried every sata port on the board...

I would try using it in another computer but not as a boot drive, just to see if windows detects it
