Question Boot SSD not recognized

After returning from a month-long vacation, I've found through an initial BIOS investigation that my computer is not recognizing my boot SSD (listed as "not present" in BIOS). Would like some advice as to the steps I need to take in order to most efficiently figure out what component/wire might be defective. Specs are:
CPU: AMD FX 8320
MB: Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 ATX AM3+
HD: PNY XLR8 120gb (2 of these, 1 is boot), 1TB WD Blue
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070
PSU: SeaSonic X-Series 660w 80+ Gold
RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x8gb DDR3 @ 1600

Try a different cable and port , if no luck most likely defective.

Yep. Swapped cables and checked with other ssd and it looks like it's caput. Oh well. Thanks for the help!
