Hey Everybody,

I just bought myself a new Pc with an AsRock b550m Pro4 motherboard and a Ryzen 5 5600x cpu. When I press the Power button the boot troubleshoot led lights up, and the system doesnt post 🙁
Is the problem with my Boot drive or is it because the bios isn't compatible with my cpu? (shouldn't then the CPU led light up?)

Hi PushedRocket.

What is the full system specs including PSU brand and model?

It could be an issue with your boot drive. Check the cables connection. To make sure it's not that unplug all the drives and try to see if it post. Including removing an M.2 if you have one.

If that doesn't work without any drives It could be your BIOS. If you have 1.0 or 1.10 the board doesn't support the 5600X. Need version 1.20 and up. For that you need a Zen 2 CPU to be installed first then you flash the BIOS then you install the new CPU. You can go to a PC shop to get it done for you or you can lend a CPU from AMD and you can send it back when done.

Try starting the system without any drives first.

Hi Nemesia

Thank you for your reply.

My full system specs are:
Cpu: Ryzen 5 5600x
Motherboard: AsRock b550m Pro4
Powersuply: Corsair cx750
Graphics card: Gigabyte gtx 1050ti
Storage: Samsung 1tb hdd, Wd Red 1tb hdd

I have just tried to start it without any drives and I still get nothing, but I've also tried to hook all of my old components back up and I still don't get anyithing, which confuses me even more.
