I finally ordered a Solid State Drive but ran in to a little problem. I only have two SATA cables; both of which are being used by my water cooling radiator and my new Solid State Drive. I had to unplug my CD Drive to setup the SSD; which creates another problem. "How can I install WIndows from a Bootable medium that is not a flash drive or cd?

I have a 4tb hard drive which i've been using for my windows drive which is just causing problems (windows doesn't support the native installation on a 4tb drive) and I want to use it as a secondary drive. However, I cannot format the drive because then I cannot boot into windows.

So my options are to make the SSD a bootable drive and make it act like a removable storage drive or move windows from my C Drive to my D Drive (both of which I don't know how to do).

Any contributions help, I may just invest the 5 bucks to get a flash drive today if I can't find an answer.

Solution
The easiest solution is exactly what you said. Just spend the $5.00 and buy a 8Gb flash drive, use some variation of a usb flash tool iso writer to copy your install disc to the flash drive, and install from the USB flash drive. It's light years easier than the gymnastics you'll have to go through unless you have a computer store nearby which sells molex -> dual sata power adapters (or single sata -> dual sata power).

Besides, every Walmart/Office Depot/Office Max carries thumb drives cheap.

Me? I'd break out the soldering iron and heat shrink tubing and have fun. :)

Solution
I'm defiantly buying SATA cables today (I have the inputs, just missing the cables), but I may have to order them as the only computer store where I live shut down (TigerDirect). In which case, I'll probably buy a flash drive. Thanks for the input everyone!

How can you only have two SATA cables? :) I have them lying around in my computer parts box like so much spaghetti. Lol. But I do a lot of computer building and have three rackmounts in a custom home built rack, one full desktop build, one custom htpc build (m-itx computer in a gutted slim Samsung DVD player) another HTPC build for the basement, well, you get the idea... :)

Well I have more but they are with the shit that came with the PSU that I didn't need and that stuff is in storage 🙁
Yeah this is my first built pc so I'm still learning what I need for what. Had no idea what a SATA cable was used for until yesterday (I had this build for two years now, never managed the innards lol)
