well, your statement made me take another look at it... and perhaps i am misinterpreting HWiNFO where it says "4 banks" on the pqi stick. I reinstalled Sandra and it shows the pqi stick taking up 2 banks.
soooo...i messed with it again, the past couple hours... have tried 100 different bios setting with the timings and all. Updated the bios too. I just can't get the sticks to like each other no matter what i do. With the pqi stick installed, the samsung dimm seems to just go bye bye, it is always the one not recognized when i have both installed. really weird.
they both work fine, in either slot, by themselves, and each only take 2 banks. I guess these two simply can't run together, on this board at least. I did have another stick running with this samsung a while back, it was crucial i think...used to always go crucial. might trade it in for a stick of that, i see there's a pretty good deal on some mushkin too right now.
