Booting and SSD card

I bought an HP 10 gen PC and the SSD drive some-how went blank. Had HP technician come and check and they replaced the motherboard and CPU and also said that the 2TB SSD card that I had was defective. The SSD card was removed and there was no drive left in there.
When I switch on the computer it powers but nothing happens as there is no SSD card, however, HP logo comes on.
I used another SSD card to see what would happen, and it comes on and then shows HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI Version 2.3.2.0 - BIOS
and I tested all the list they had and it passed, HOWEVER, I cannot go beyond that. The computer had Windows 11 on it. No drive letters come on and it dies not go beyond that point
I am not computer Savvy. How do I start the computer beyond that to have the Windows 11 and that the disk boots so I can see what is on there. No drive letters come on. I even tried inserting a thumb drive .. still nothing happens and it does not recognize the letters

Can anyone help me in layman's terms what to do.
And also how can I retrieve my personal stuff from the old SSD card. - in case it is contaminated with finger marks or tissue paper, can it be cleaned?
you can email me direct [Moderator edit - XXXXXX personal email address deleted] and also I will check here now and then
Thank you
Paul

I edited out the posted email address. Do not post personal information

As for the posted question/problem that all seems very strange.

Starting with "The SSD card was removed and there was no drive left in there."

That suggests that there was no testing or other actions taken to show that the laptop was again booting and working.

Plus:

"And also how can I retrieve my personal stuff from the old SSD card. - in case it is contaminated with finger marks or tissue paper, can it be cleaned?"

That should not make any difference at all..... unless fingerprints would be evidence of something. Tissue paper being moot any any context that I can think of.

You need to contact that "HP Technician" for the return of the removed SSD card. And/or to reinstall the OS.

Personal stuff should be recovered via your backups.

Overall more explanation and details are needed here. No personal information or links.

Thank you ... I did receive a small 256 GB ssd card from HP and that is how I was able to see what it said to test
Without that nothing was happening - only the HP logo was coming.
My apologies for putting email ... am not sure how this works but it wont happen again
Thank you

When the technician came around, did he install the OS onto the new SSD? If not then that's what's missing on your PC.:
We did not have the SSD card at the time. It was mailed by HP to me a couple of days later. The technician only installed the PC Board and the CPU that day. I just inserted the card myself. Without the card nothing was happening. After the card, that is when it started to check and I could control the test list from the keyboard. There was a green light on the board. When the old SSD card was in there, it also showed a red light.

Thank you
