Booting problem

I've just put together a new system, turned it on, and there isn't any monitor signal.
I use an Abit AV8 Motherboard, which does a self test and displays the status on a small number display.
After turning it on it displays 9.0, which upon looking in the manual means:
"Complete uGuru initial process AWARD Bios take over booting job"

I would presume that this means everything is okay, and the system should boot up.
That doesn't seem likely though, because when i tried removing the graphic board and the Memory modules, it displayed the same thing.

I use a Sapphire Atlantis 9800pro graphics board. Could the problem be something to do with the graphic card?

I would appreciate any kind of recommendations you could make

Lots of people don't notice that you have to put on a additional power connector to todays high powered cards.
Did you attach yours?

The Radeon 9800 Pro must be connected to the computer? power supply to meet its performance and high-speed memory requirements.
In order to supply the ATI Graphics Accelerator card with the necessary power, we have included the Power Extension Cable.
Use the Power Extension Cable to connect the Radeon 9800Pro to the computer? hard Drive power connector.
