bootmsg is missing

my pc (hp g62) stays on black screen while white bootmsg lettering comes up and prompts me to press ctrl alt & delte when i do this the same black screen with the white lettering comes up. i don't have any type of disc to fix this just what came with the pc i think it's a windows xp need help

when your pc gos to boot do you have a option to press f 8 and repair?
