boots to bios and then shuts down

so i have two hard drives and a win8 installtion disc, one hard drive might have an os on it but im not sure wat it is and if it even works, i can have both plugged in, one plugged in or non at all and the pc wil get to the bios screen and then turn off, i dont even get a chance to put the disc in, it turns off before i can select a boot drive, i dont know wat to do. the fan on my cpu rad is a 3000rpm fan and when i start the pc up and it boots to the bios this fan gets faster and faster until the pc shuts down, ive tried start without the fan plugged in and it says cpu fan error and takes me back to the bios anyway.

Something is wrong with wiring. bad connections, power delivery and possibly the motherboard. Try unplugging and replugging everythig and use a good known bare drive.

ok cheers im just stressing cos i need this pc for work, all happened after i gave my gf my book drive and took her hard drive to install a os on it for her and now my pc wont work even with her hard drive not plugged in

Suggestion. Format the INTERNAL drive, NTFS file type on another machine through an internal sata connection. Reinstall and try again. So many possible causes here.

Also, make sure that internal drive is the only drive connected when loading an OS.

cheers for all the help mate turned out once id gone right back to basic's and checked the system over that the ram wasnt seated properly and after that worked just fine, i now have another problem though which is my headset appears as plugged in when its not and unplugged when its plugged in....... ill post it in the audio section though cheers for you help.

First you need to check your hard drive is working properly. if it is working properly then it might be corruption related to operating system. so you have to repair your operating system.
