Hello Friends

I'm about to upgrade my system and would like some advice on RAM and a CPU cooler.

The processor will be an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B850M-K

I'm undecided about RAM. I like the Lexar 6400 MHz 16x2: 32 GB RAM...

The price and CAS latency are better than comparable models, and they're being praised in forums and YouTube reviews. However, it's also been reported that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor experiences stability issues with RAM faster than 6000 MHz, making it risky to use 6400 MHz RAM and requiring underclocking. What are your thoughts on this, and what are your experiences and readings? To avoid stability issues, I've considered G.SKILL Ripjaws M5 RGB White Dual DDR5-6000Mhz 32GB (2x16GB)

I also need air cooling for the processor. I'm currently trying to overcome my ignorance on this topic by watching YouTube review videos. Which air cooling system do you recommend for an AM5 socket processor? It's important for the cooler to strike a good balance between noise and effective cooling. I'm not considering liquid cooling because I've had a bad experience with it before.

Thanks

You're cheaping out on the motherboard. If I were in your shoes, I'd look at something with a better VRM design. The Prime series is the entry level of motherboard's from Asus and Asus have been at the forefront of lackluster quality while also charging a higher price for their gear.

As for ram, so long as you're looking at DDR5-6000MHz or slightly higher frequencies(6400MHz/6600MHz), tight latency, dual channel ram kits with AMD's E.X.P.O advertised on it, you're good to go! As for the G.Skill ram, you should look at their Neo range of ram kits in order to drop them into AMD's AM5 platforms. The non-Neo kits are meant for Intel's platforms.

What is the make and model of the case you're working with? This would be the best cooler;

to pick up, provided you don't run into clearance issues in the case.

Better power delivery to the processor.

My case is pretty old but I think it is ok. Enermax ECA3052-BS Chakra Mid Tower
Yeah, the case needs to go as well unless you want to cook your internals. Todays hardware require optimal airflow in a chassis.
