Boston, terrorism or not?

Possible false flag, an attempt from the government to pass a blame onto a country they want to invade somewhere in the East.

Also a possible excuse to justify a new bill they will pass, taking more freedom away from the American people. Only time will tell.

(I just want to point out that these are my opinions/thoughts, not facts and that some may agree or disagree, which is what discussions are for)

It will prolly turn out to be some lone nut ... I played the explosion several times and it was not a high VoD exlosive like PETN ... more likely ANFO.

VoD looked about 2500 - 3000ms ... not significantly higher than normal blasting explosive for mining.

Also the gaseous cloud associated with the explosion suggests a lower velocity homebrew or industrial explosive designed to move rock / earth as in mining iron ore or associated materials.

I apologise if this causes offense - I was in the military and worked with ginger beers for a while.

I'm guessing it is a lone nut job or a couple of nut jobs. I would not be surprised if it was some Islamic zealot like the Fort Hood shooter. Someone or a few people acting alone living out some perverted fantasy about receiving the Glory of Allah and cashing in on their 40 virgins.

I think that myth only applies if you blow yourself up too..

Terrorism - Doesn't necessarily mean foreign agents. Timothy McVeigh is terrorist. Attack meant to damage and install fear is terrorism. Not PC at all.

BuddiLova, do you mean that US government will blame it on most convenient party to attack, or that US government planted bombs to allow attack on convenient party? The former is called "history repeating itself." The latter is, in my opinion, tinfoil hat territory.

Strange as this will sound, the more we allow it to impact our lives (changing our behavior, making us nervous), the more the perpetrator wins. Yes, we have to pay attention to the event - to the tragedy, the victims, the first responders, and the bystanders who became heroes by doing what seemed natural and helping. That's news. But the perpetrators and their motives should be buried (literally, in the case of the former), except for providing the information to those whose job it is to protect us all from such ****.

WyomingKnott- I am very glad you pointed that out in your first paragraph, too many people are quick to blame the man with a turban and a long beard, which, sometimes is not the case. (Try tell that to FOX news)

As for your second paragraph, I believe it is both however, that opinion will be quickly dismissed as it does not agree with many peoples' views --this does not mean it can't happen. What is most concerning is the fact that it has happened during the time which tensions are most high in the East/Middle East.

This could cause major complications, especially if the perpetrator is not intenal.

I think you will find out in due course that the bombs were poorly designed because the footage of the second blast was significantly different to the first, suggesting it did not detonate properly and since they mentioned a third unexploded device then that further adds support to the assertion.

Poor execution suggests poor planning and that suggests some sort of crackpot group or some loner with only basic knowledge.

Hopefully the FBI will sort it out and quickly find the people responsible and give those effected some closure.

I thought when I read the headlines yesterday "White Houses thinks it may be Terrorism" I thought, "WTH else could it be?"

The threat exists... Also think it might have to do with tax day but I doubt that as the marathon happened to be on that day as well. I think that might be used a way for DHS to call Conservatives criminals. Time will tell which angle is played and what really happened and by who.

Well, I just questioned the thing as it played out, with me bouncing from CNN to Fox to MSNBC to ABC.
Some wouldnt call it terrorism, and some pointed out the WH never said the word, or actual the prez never did, while other correspondence said it was even tho the prez never said.
ABC CNN and Fox were consistent, they called it terrorism.

Its not as if we call it terrorism the bad guys win.
The subtle changing of words does nothing but clutter things up, and you need a trashman to clean it up 😉

I guess this does do a few things to me
It shows how some can be incredibly evil, careless etc, and is sad
The other is, it makes me mad.

They're claiming the bombs were pressure cookers?

Instantly reminded me of the movie Backdraught, when the pyromaniac in prison was interviewed, and he said, "Who would release the fire but still want to fully control it, and not let it free?"

He was indicating it was a fireman actually setting up the backdraughts.

Wanting to execute his direct victim, but snuffing the fire in the process, containing collateral damage.

Obviously that's not a terrorists goal of maximum damage, that's more like some experimenting idiot!

So really I wonder who is actually behind it, and what future crap is planned to follow, what new laws do they need to get in place to further their goals now?

I pray for the victims and surviving family members that now have to live with the aftermath of such a Stupid A$$ed Endeavor!

Well, ricin sent to repub senators, which I havnt seen on the MSM except Fox, doesnt fit the narrative, unless its coincidence.
If it is some nut job loony, and he hates taxes and this country, how much are we spending to cull the government officials mail?

Maybe it was Bill Ayers, or someone emulating his life?
It could be anyone with major hate in them, anyone.
Wonder how Robert Redfords got to say now, if this guy was inspired by him?
Too much hatred here, and given casually as well

All I know when I left the states 7 years ago things like this really happened once in a while not frequently like this.We cannot say for sure if this is a foreign terrorist or not? Not enough proof yet.To many dam illegals now in the states.Another problem we have.Obama I think is avoiding this issue for I do not know could be for his political agenda or he is afraid of speaking out for fear of the GOP Party might say to him. he is not a leader but a follower.

I just hope people he may listen to keep on him.
Skirting around the "T" word is childish, as it was for Benghazi.
The pyscho wording core needs to be left on an island somewheres all alone.
The words he says are analyzed by these people, and theyre worded to lift his people, not offend, and not to escalate or give fodder to the competition, and is why we see so many prompts

He is one of the 16 republican senators voting to end the gun control filibuster, and recently had dinner with the president. So there is just as good of a chance it was a disillusioned conservative. I figured since we are jabbing at political parties why not join in?

Also since Rey is our explosives expert (Im only the sexual espionage expert) I would be interested to hear his take on some of the photos of the explosive pressure cookers.

http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/story/21996004/exclusive-photos-boston-marathon-bomb

Seems like it could be anyone with spare time and access to the internet, this is a fairly common design from what Ive heard.

Look, reality is, these people either bombed or admire bombers, I wanted to remind people after this just how hatred filled those ideals are.
If its a political thing, then dont like what they say, who they are, and recognize the hatred for what it is

We are all guessing that is it.Years ago most of you were to young to remember the Mad Bomber in NYC who planted bombs and killed lots of people. George Metesky he worked for Con Edison and took out his frustration on some of the people who fired him and got killed by his bombs.this could be the same kind of crack pot we are dealing with. They will get them eventually.

Frankly mingo we share the same expertise.

I just did a shotfirer course at TAFE back in the 80's and worked supporting ginger beers blowing up blinds in the late 80's.

Explosives scare the bajeesus out of me and I am much more comfortable opening a packet of BBQ Chips and pouring a nice cold Coke with some ice ... then watching a movie.

I just watched that Fertilizer factory go up in Waco though ... hmmm.

What kind of idiot thinks ammonia is safe eh?

Cripes ... I can think of a dozen different scenarios where that is going to be a problem.

Seriously ... no Dangerous Goods License for a Fertilizer Factory??

Even an ignorant terrorist can get lucky, this incident seemed to be some kind of effectiveness test, you know like when the US tested the atom bomb before dropping them on Japan.

The pictures really are irrelevant, what's really important is what chemical makeup was inside, and that information is MIA, unless you've discovered otherwise?

I'm curious as to the explosive composition, it will indicate more of the capabilities behind the creator of the bombs.

Is the perpetrator experimenting or really know what they or they're doing?

The yield/volume is a little confusing?

The smoke afterwards looks a lot like black powder, but that information is not available yet?

At this time no one knows if as far as the bomb is concerned the maker deems it completely successful, it has begun a terror search campaign, but is this just the beginning?

Still a lot of questions to be answered, but authorities will probably hold back the internal composition for now?

IMO for the volume a pressure cooker can hold, the destruction could have been 10 times greater, but it depends on what was inside?

Now we'll need to start a ban the sale of pressure cookers thread. :pfff:

Not trying to be funny, this is a sad time!

My wife and I were discussing yesterday the terrorism fear after effect level, meaning we seem to do an instant comparative to 9/11, if it wasn't on the scale of 9/11, it almost doesn't register on the fear meter for some of us, and we're kinda numb to it.

That does not change the fact that people died, were maimed and seriously injured, families are damaged to the point of living with this for the rest of their lives.

It is a tragedy!

well the only thing I know is after this there will be suspect packages appear all over the country. Just like the one found in UCLA yesterday. People always use this kind of tragedy.

People are turning into inhumane beings with what is happening now with all these tactics in the states. Terrorists are on the rise taking advantage of the freedom we have in our country.
