But wouldn't it at least act as a deterrent? If a consumer wants to participate in this questionable market then they sacrifice their right to a warranty. Nobody is forcing anyone to participate, so the only ones penalized are those who choose to be. Sounds reasonable to me.
How effective it would be is certainly questionable as someone who will purchase a product at twice the msrp will probably also be willing to sacrifice their warranty. But it might help a little bit. Some may decide to wait.
I'd be happy to see anything that makes scalping less attractive as a business opportunity.
