Both my CD-Rom drives have stopped recognizing blank CD or DVD disks. A notice appears saying that the disks need to be formatted. Right clicking on the drive and it does not show the command to format. They will accept disks that have programs written on the disks.
In Device manager they are shown as working properly.
On connecting a USB external CD-Rom that is exactly the same.
If I connect the USB CD-Rom to another computer, it is fine, as are all the disks that are rejected by the other computer. System is Windows 7 64bit.
I suspected a virus and have run Avast, Kaspersky and found nothing.
Also checked for malware using Super Antispyware, Adaware, and Malabytes. No problems.
