[SOLVED] Both M.2 SSD not recognized on Z370G

Hey guys, so I have 2 M.2 SSD's, one is SATA and one is NVMe.

https://www.amazon.ca/Blue-NAND-500GB-SSD-WDS500G2B0B/dp/B073SBX6TY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1547421211&sr=8-2&keywords=WD+m.2
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07J2Q4SWZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Those are the two I have. The issue I am having is that only the M2_1 slot is working under any scenario. According to the documentation, one M.2 is SATA & PCIe and the other is just PCIe.

Not too computer savvy, but here's what happens:

SATA M.2:
* Recognized in M2_1 slot.
* Not recognized in M2_2 slot.

NVMe M.2:
* Not recognized in M2_1 or M2_2 slot.
* LED on this one turns on in M2_2 slot so the drive DOES have power.

Clearly, I am missing something, is anything visibly wrong?

Solution
The NVMe drive won't show up as "bootable" until you have the OS installed on it.
And you need to install the OS on it with only that drive connected.

Sorry if I made that a bit confusing. The second M.2 doesn't show up anywhere, only mentioned bootable because I wanted to emphasis that it doesn't show anywhere at all.

To summarize: SATA M.2 M2_1 shows up as my main drive (it has my OS) but the NVMe M.2 in M2_2 does not show up anywhere, even when swapping them. The PC either doesn't know that the NVMe drive is connected or is rejecting it maybe?

Alrighty, not sure what I did but progress has been made. BIOS recognizes the NVMe SSD now as it is shown in the "boot priority" section but not SATA information (assuming because it's NVMe).

The drive is not recognized in Windows, however, only BIOS. What can be done about this?

WDS is my Windows drive, CT1000 is my NVMe SSD.

Hey man, I super appreciate your help. I got on a roll and ended up solving the issue.

Don't know why nothing was recognized the first time but it ended up being shown in the BIOS like I said, all I had to do from that point was initialize and format the drive then create a new volume and all was dandy.

You are a blessing, hope you have a great day!!
