[SOLVED] Bottleneck Identification/Upgrade Questions

Hello all,

I'm ready to start upgrading, or perhaps more accurately, starting a new build around my GPU, and so I'd like to understand better what exactly is holding my system back at the moment. My system looks like this. I've just run benchmarks on UserBenchmark to get these results:

UserBenchmarks: Game 115%, Desk 88%, Work 90%
CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K - 84.3%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080-Ti - 138.4%
SSD: Intel 530 Series 240GB - 86.9%
RAM: G.SKILL RipjawsZ DDR3 1600 C10 2x8GB - 60.7%
MBD: Asus MAXIMUS VI IMPACT

According to these results, it would suggest that my rig is capable of gaming rather competently, however I'm currently attempting to play God of War on Ultra settings at 1080p, and I'm getting constant frame drops and cannot even keep a steady 60 FPS. I have noticed that my CPU usage is constantly maxed out while playing, so I'm wondering if this is where the major bottlenecking is occurring.

I'm aware that to build a new rig with a significant improvement in CPU and RAM that I'd need to purchase a new motherboard as well, so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for decent upgrades that would help me get the most out of my GPU. I don't really want to built a rocket ship, but I'd at least like to have something that can game comfortably at 1080p.

What country are you located, what is your budget and do you plan on reusing any components other than your gpu?

I'm in Canada. I'd probably only use the GPU, SSD (for now), and PSU. Budget isn't that much of a concern, but I'm not trying to build a 4k gaming machine or do any kind of rendering or any such thing. Gaming comfortably at 1080p is fine for me, so I'm not looking to get a 12900K or anything like that. Just a system that wouldn't hold back my GPU so much. I'm fine with it not all being current gen. For reference, I've been looking at CPUs around 5600X/11600KF area.

Wait a month or two for more B660/H670 motherboards to become available and for prices to settle, then get an i5-12400(F), a B660/H670 board with DDR4 and 16GB of DDR4-3200-16 or better.

As @InvalidError pointed out, wait a few more weeks for the B660 DDR4 boards to show up on North American hardware sites. These boards in the links down below should retail for right around $150 USD if I had to guess. This gives you a rough idea of what you're looking at cost wise.
