I'm thinking of buying the Corsair Air 540 but a lot of the reviews complain about the lack of filters and, in particular the holes at the bottom of the case. While this case would be on the desk, I've pets and I've had problems with hair getting in cases without filters and those holes just scream.... problems. Obvious solution would be to find a magnetic filter on the underside of the case. Does anyone know where I might buy one and/or if Silverstone's 240mm filter would work. The other option is demciflex but with international shipping fees the filters cost almost as much as the case.... Ideas?

Yea, glue (or otherwise mount) the stocking to the rim of the hole.

You could also go about this from an alternative way, and just make sure its a positive pressure system. That way air will only blow out from the bottom, as opposed to a negative pressure which would suck air in.

Well, I got the measurements for demciflex's custom filters for the Air 540 are 148mm x 313mm; silverstone's is 320mm x 155mm. Given the way the bottom of the case looks (appears there's an indent) and I know the Silverstone 240 filter is too big to use on the top of the case, that difference may mean it won't work on the bottom either.

Now for the really dumb question: How would I DIY this opening? I mean I know how to do the stocking trick with a fan but these are just plain open holes in the case and I'm not sure how I'd do this....

Your saying the Silverstone is 7mm on too large, its not a big deal. Even if the screws holes dont line up, you can probably just pierce the material and have the fans screwed in through it.

Glue the stocking to the sides, or again screw in the fans through the material.

These aren't areas for fans so no screw holes and no fans to glue the stockings to -- I'd literally be gluing the stocking to the bottom of the case (is that what you're suggesting?).. On http://www.sweclockers.com/galleri/11454-qb-corsair-carbide-air-540 there's an image (4th photo down) of what I'm talking about (it's from the inside of the case but I think you can see what I'm talking about). The Silverstone filter is magnetic but with the edge beveling the it does that 7mm in both length and width might matter because the demciflex sits inside that indented area on the outside of the case rather than fitting around the outside of that indented area. I was just hoping someone might be able to either measure that section for me or tell me if they have tried using it -- Corsair doesn't have a fix but I'm probably just going to have to call them back to get the dimensions of that section.
