My old specs:
  • Gtx 1070 founders edition
  • Intel Core i9-900k
  • 32gb Corsair vengeance RAM 3200mhz
  • MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON (MS-7B17) Motherboard
these were old specs from a long time ago. i know my 1070 is really outdated and i was looking to buy a new one and bought the Radeon RX 6750 XT to upgrade my gpu.
i know my CPU will bottleneck my GPU but i really needed a new GPU so i went with it anyways. im thinking of upgrading my CPU and mainboard in near future or should i leave things as they are now with my new GPU. Im into competitive gaming so i dont need overkill graphics cards for the games i play.

If you’re in the USA and have Microcenter nearby they have pretty good bundle deals. The 1070 is basically the same performance as the slightly newer 1660ti if I’m not mistaken which is still a few years old now. But you may find that with a new cpu that the card wakes up a bit.

What country are you in and where do you plan to shop? Also what resolution are you playing at? Looked at this calculator and according to that you may run into that situation probably depending on what games you’re playing. If you were in the USA I’d tell you go 12th-14th gen intel or perhaps am5 with a 7600 processor possibly. Though you may get more mileage from your money going am4. S ometimes there are bundles that cut the prices down.

I am from Germany. Also I heard gen 13 and 14 intel have microprocessor issues where the cpu basically fries itself so I'm not looking for that also my budged is like 300€ for the new mainboard and cpu combined or is that too low? I'm into fps games competitively so I play at 1080p low settings almost always

Intel has found and fixed the root cause of 13/14th gen issues.
Here is their official update as of 9/25/2024:
https://community.intel.com/t5/Blog...sktop-Instability-Root-Cause/post/1633446#M40

The warranty on these products has been extended by 2 years.

A user only needs to verify that their motherboard includes the fixed bios.

Bottleneck calculators are considered as junk science.
If you go by passmark single thread ratings, 13/14th gen intel will have the strongest single thread performance numbers.
A moot point with a 300€ budget

Do you have a more authoritative source for this assertion?
Is that a serious question? They've failed to fix it on more than one occasion previously, I think it's safe to assume that we are going to have to wait to see whether their latest fixes bear any fruit.

Can you guarantee anyone reading this and considering an Intel 13th or 14th generation that their CPU will still be working correctly in 2 years?
