Hi guys!
Im looking to upgrade my r7 250 to an r9 270x but being on a budget i can afford only a s8 400w from be quiet, the psu has all the needed connectors but im here to ask is it enough, it has a 80 plus certification

PC Budget Build from 2014ish

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 750
MB: Biostar A58ML
RAM: 8gb 2x4 Silicon Power DDR3 1666MHZ
GPU (current one): PowerColor R7 250 1gb GDDR5

P.S. Im looking to buy a 4gb variant of the windforce edition r9 270x but in honesty anyone i find il pick up if its a fair price

I think its the 500W RECOMMENDED PSU

From google when googled the GPU!

AMD R9 270X - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit. AMD R9 270X Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 700 Watt power

What PCIe power connectors does it have, 2x6-pin? If so, the maximum draw for the card would be 225W (75W slot + 2x75W PCIe), but actual draw would likely be just over 150W (the additional connector needed means it must be at least 150W under load). If this PSU is able to provide most of its output on +12V, it would be enough, but you'd be running it hard which could shorten its life. If a GTX1050 or GTX1050Ti is in your budget, it would be a safer long-term choice, not because it's nVidia, but because some of those don't even need one PCIe power cable.

The be quiet! System Power 8 400W has two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors and has a Max. combined +12V power rating of 384 Watts (32 Amps). AMD says that the Typical Board Power of the Radeon R9 270X is 180 Watts. In theory, the S8-400W is sufficient for the OP's posted system specs.
