Brand new acer monitor not working

My PC and monitor was working wonderfully a few days ago, one day I go to turn on my PC and my monitor is completely dead; no light no responses no nothing. It was time for a new monitor anyways since I've had this old one for years so I get the acer "ED242QR" and set everything up. PC turns on just fine everything seems to be alright on my PC but the monitor does it's start up Acer logo then cuts to "no signal" and stays a black screen with a blinking blue power light all the while my PC is still running. My DVI D and power supply are plugged in but I don't know what the problem is please help.

NOTE: the manual says that "Blue flicker standby/power saving mode"

with your pc if there onboard video ports turn the pc on and move the video cable to those ports see if the gpu or power supply in the pc went bad. try your old monitor and new one on another input...ie pc or dvd player or xbox.

I have no way to test the monitor on another device but the manual said the blinking means it's on sleep mode so maybe that's something??

per the amazon info the unit has an hdmi port. plug your cable or dvd player into the hdmi port see if it turns on.

I don't have an HDMI cable to test it I'm using a dvi cable to use it and that's all I have

It's probably a computer issue and if anyone knows what it is I would appreciate it so I can take it to a shop or something

if some of the fans are working and the pc has onboard video port. pull the gpu see if onboard video works. if not the first thing is to have the shop try a test power supply.
