Hello, i just made my first build and it does not start.

Specs list:
- Memory GSKill Trident Z Neo 16GB DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Dual Channel Kit
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 3.9GHz Socket AM4
  • Asus x570p Prime motherboard
  • L-Link LL-PS-1000-80+-G ATX 1000W 80 Plus Gold
  • MSI AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Mech OC 8gb DDR6
All power cables are properly connected.
I get 1 Long Beep and 2 Short Beeps (only once, not repeated) when power on which indicates some Memory Error according to the motherboard manual.

Notes:
  • Graphic card also does not start on power up. Fans stand still.
  • Case fans and liquid cooler works properly.
  • USB Ports don't work.
  • RAM gets power (RGB lights work)
  • MotherBoard BIOS Not updated to the latest version. (can't update it because i can't enter the bios and GPU does not give any signal to the monitor)
  • CPU has no integrated gpu.
What could it be & what could i do?

1 Long Beep and 2 Short Beeps: No memory detected

in which slots is the memory installed? Recommended would be slot A2 and B2

reset the bios by jumper

only connect a minimum hardware setup:
power supply, CPU with cooler, GPU, motherboard, one memory module in slot A2

eventually you will need a CPU which is compatible to the oldest BIOS version 0602 for this motherboard, like
Ryzen 3 3100
Ryzen 3 3300X
Ryzen 5 3500
Ryzen 5 3500X
Ryzen 9 3900X
Ryzen 9 3950X
to update the BIOS, so it can run the 3800X, which is supported till version 0706

RAM Memory inserted as recomended in the manual in slots A2 and B2.
I tried to boot it with minimum hardware on the motherboard.
I also tried with a single RAM card on every slot.

After the steps above, got the same result. 1 Long Beep and 2 Short.

Reseted BIOS with jumper method.

After reseting the bios, got the same result. 1 Long Beep and 2 Short.

try the motherboard on a non conductive surface

could be either RAM incompatibility or an old BIOS version
I have ordered a more basic CPU with integrated GPU to be able to update the BIOS to its latest version.
I'm pretty sure it's the BIOS because i removed all RAM cards out of the slots and i also removed the Graphic Card out and the result is the same, 1 Long beep and 2 Short.
So, i guess the BIOS does not get to check the RAM or the GPU because it stops checking when it finds the unsupported CPU problem.

I will come back with additional feedback tomorrow after updating the BIOS to the latest version.

I got a cheap CPU with integrated graphics -> Amd Athlon 3000G, 5MB, 3.5GHz with Radeon™ Vega 3, Socket AM4

Updates:
  • I no longer get the 1Long 2Short Beep code
  • My graphic card not idle anymore
  • Could not update BIOS
  • Still have the following problem: No display & No post

I'm going to send it to a professional service in order to get a full diagnostic and hopefully to get the BIOS updated by them.

I hope the everything works fine once the MB BIOS is updated.

I will come with further feedback next week probably.

did you connect the monitor to the GPU and tried the integrated one as well?

BIOS reset could help as well

but like said, safest way would have been using one of the CPUs I mentioned before
the 3000G is not even listed on the CPU support homepage of this motherboard
