I recently just built a new computer and it seems to be working well, but when simply browsing chrome or watching a youtube video, my chrome crashes and comes up with the 'Aw Snap!' page. The error code is 'STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION'. This was one thing, but then out of nowhere, my discord (of which I was in a call) closed randomly with no explanation. Not too long after, my sound stopped working when I launched Cyberpunk 2077. Now when launching Cyberpunk 2077, I get great framerates, but upon first launch, I BSOD'd with the error code 'PAGE_ FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA' with the affected file being 'wcifs.sys'. I then enabled XMP (it upped the clock speed to 7400mhz ?!?) and weirdly haven't experienced a BSOD since, but my game crashes every 5-10 minutes now.

My specs:
Motherboard: Asus Matrix Z790 Formula
GPU: RTX 4080 ROG Strix
CPU: i9 14900k
PSU: Asus ROG STRIX 1000W
RAM: Corsair Dominator Titanium (2x24GB) @7200mhz
Cooler: Lian Li Galahad LCD II

What's strange to me is that although supposedly fixing some issues, enabling XMP went above the maximum speed of my ram by 200mhz??
I don't know if there's any correlation with all of these issues I've said, but I really wish to get to the bottom of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Some thoughts:

a) Run memtest86+
It boots from a usb stick and do not use windows.
You can download it here:

If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your ram should be ok.

Running several more passes will sometimes uncover an issue, but it takes more time.
Probably not worth it unless you really suspect a ram issue.

b) Are there any bios updates that look like they address your issues?

c) In the bios there may be an option to load maximum performance defaults.
You might want to try different options.
