Hello!
I just bought a new GPU (It's the Gigabyte Radeon Rx460 4GB) and some weird things happened: The first time I plugged it in (I think I did it properly, the fans were working) there was no signal on my computers monitor. It wouldn't even show the BIOS screen and when I tried connecting the HDMI to the motherboard I would get no signal there aswell. The computer was powered up and would stay up indefinetely. The other weird thing I noticed is that when I decided to shut it down, it turned off instantly when I pressed the power button (normally I have to hold it in for some seconds). After that I decided to plug in my old GPU so that I can have access to my computer. However, as soon as I plugged in my old GPU my motherboard ( Gigabyte H77M-D3H) went into a boot loop (10secs and then restart) with nothing on my screen aswell. Upon researching that I realised that my BIOS has been corrupted so I had to remove the motherboard battery and then load it from the 2nd BIOS (my motherboard has a double BIOS). After that my computer is working as it used to with the old GPU. When I tried plugging the new GPU, there was no signal again but at least it didn't lead to the whole BIOS corruption incident.
So my question is how do I get the new GPU to function properly? As far as I checked, it is compatible with my motherboard.
My main suspicion is that the BIOS of my motherboard is really outdated (I checked it and it is a 2012 date). Do you think that a BIOS update would solve the problem? The latest version on the Gigabyte site is a 2014 version.
Thank you in advance!
