Brand new HP with near FULL D: drive

I have a brand new HP Pavillon 16 GB 1 TB which I haven't even connected to the internet and it states in storage that my D: Recovery drive space has used 16.1 GB worth if space ?? Thinking of returning it.

That is NORMAL. That drive is where HP has put the files required to do a factory restore. Leave it alone.

Absolutely normal. That is just the factory restore partition. Leave it be.
