Just built a new pc, here are the specs:
Pentium G4560
gigabyte ga-b250m-ds3h
corsair cx500
wd 500gb hdd
gskill ripjaws 4 2400mhz 2x4gb kit
corsair 88r matx case

Ive installed 8gb of ram (from one kit) but after i installed windows, it runs slow. when checking system info, i only see 4gb of ram recognised. ive tried switiching the ram to the other two dimms, but it wont even boot in that.

UPDATE: I've switched both ram modules and it seemed to work fine(but it still was only 4gb), then I used only one ram module in slot 1. Still fine, obviously it was only 4gb since only one was installed. I then used the second ram module in dimm 1, worked. So there is no problem with the ram. I tried both in slot 2 and nothing happened. Wouldn't even boot. Does this mean that dimm 2 is dead? Will I have to replace my mobo? Its not even been a week since I've bought it.

Solution
Just send back to the shop where you bought it and let them confirm it for you to see on the spot. I guess you already nailed the issue by swapping the RAM. At least you still have a warranty.
Just wanna know if there are any other ways to confirm this since I really don't want to change my motherboard as it's gonna be a pain. I have loads of schoolwork and cable management in my case is not the best.
