I just built my own PC from scratch. I also bought a brand new monitor and windows 10. However I can't install the monitor driver without windows 10 and I can't install windows 10 without the monitor. I am connecting the monitor via HDMI to my motherboard. Is it just that the motherboard(ASRock Z170 Pro4S) is only outputting the DVI-D, if so I will need to get a new cord but I'd like to hear if anyone knows for sure.

I don't have the GPU driver installed so I didn't think it would be using that. I will check in the morning.

I tried that, but it didn't work. I think maybe just getting a DVI-D cable might work so I'll try that and post if it woks.

I tried and it didn't work. Do you need to install a driver before using a Graphics card, or will it work without?

Tried everything except for not using an HDMI cord as I don't have anything but that. I'll try and buy the DVI cord later today.

Update: I got the DVI-D cord and I could see BIOS. Unfortunately, it doesn't see my second ram stick and it doesn't recognize my hard drive at all! Please help me someone! Hard driveSeagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive - OEM. Motherboard- ASRock Z170 Pro4S

with the bios screen showing now update the bios. make sure the two ram slots are in the right banks. new mb have an 0 and 1 bank with a and b dimm slot. dont put the ram into the same two colors slots as one is a side the other b bank. for the ssd. check that the ssd on slot 0 the cd rom on slot 1.
drive is spinning and in the bios the sata ports are set to achi mode. if the drive not seen under boot but is under sata tab turn on legacy bios.

I fixed the Hard Drive, it came unplugged. The second RAM wasn't in the right spot, so I moved it. However due to the CPU cooler couldn't put the RAM in the recommended spot. Now my problem is my brand new keyboard stopped working so I'll have to get a different one before I can fix that. Thanks for the help.

I tried the keyboard I thought was broken, but it was actually just the computer, for some reason, something isn't working as I can't get a signal from my monitor like I used to, any ideas?
