Question Brand new SFF PC Build - no post unless I reset CMOS; also integrated graphics is NOT working. What is going on?

Issue as per title. I'll try to be as brief as possible. Basically two issues:
  • The computer will NOT post into BIOS unless I manually short the CMOS every single *time on boot. If I re-start after the initial post into BIOS, the computer will no longer post again (ie. will have to short CMOS again before getting anything up.
  • Despite my mobo/CPU combo (Asus ROG STRIX B660-i / i5-12600K) having integrated graphics, plugging into the integrated module does NOT work at all.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this? For full specs:
  • Mobo: Asus ROG STRIX B660-i
  • CPU: i5-12600K
  • Ram: Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x16gb DDR5-5600 CL36
  • Storage: WD SN850
  • Case: NR200P
  • PSU: SF750W
This is driving me insane. Am dreading at the idea of having to take apart the PC again for a rebuild - should have built it on tabletop first... Sigh.

Surely you're seeing something on the monitor to know that it's posting, yes?

Sounds like the "default graphics adapter" setting in the BIOS is trying to use a discrete card.

in this case, would it swap to the integrated GPU if no discrete GPU was attached? I had the GPU out and integrated still wasn’t working
