Branded LED strip or local hardware LED strip

Hi..just wanna ask..

whats the difference with the branded LED strips that are specifically made for pc case and the ones that you can buy on your local hardware stores for general lighting use??cause i saw someone buy an led strip from a local hardware and asked the guys there to change the wiring so he can attach it to his power supply

PC strips are designed to run off molex, most store bought kits require a wall adapter.

I personally would recommend store bought kits for things like desk or ambient lighting, and PC kits for the case.
