Bricked MOBO, fried CPU?
All started a few months back. Updated BIOS out of stupidity, something went wrong during the update (it has been a few months so I am not sure what it was, I think it was black screen during the BIOS update that lasted multiple hours and I just restarted the PC). Next boot, no display, PC turned on normally with all fans and RGB on. After trying to troubleshoot for a few days, testing each component (but the CPU) on a different rig I assumed it was bricked MOBO. I tried basically everything that I could find online about this issue, but since everything was working fine before the update and while testing on the other rig, I really couldn't see how any of the other components could be the issue. CPU was also working fine before. During this my MOBO was Asus Prime B450-A.
Mounted my components (but the CPU, since my brother's CPU was the only component that was better than my own) on the other rig (my brother's, since he wasn't using it) and used it until now. Finally, bought a new MOBO, ASUS TUF Gaming B450M-PLUS II. Mounted my PC again with the new MOBO, but same issue repeated down to the T. No display, peripherals lights turn on (keyboard keeps changing light patterns every 10-15 seconds, same as before), all RGB is on and all fans are on. I haven't tried every single thing as I did before, since I find it way too big of a coincidence that the issue is exactly the same, after posting this I will start troubleshooting again.
Can a bricked MOBO fry a CPU? My CPU doesn't have any signs of damage or bent pins. What should I do, and what do you think the problem is?
Components:
ASUS TUF Gaming B450M-PLUS II
ZOTAC Twofans RTX 2080 TI
Ryzen 5 2600
TForce 2x8GB DDR4 3000MHz DELTA RGB CL16-18-18-38
1TB HDD
456GB SSD NVME M.2 970 PRO
Seasonic prime titanium 1100W
(The only things that werent being actively used on the other PC was RAM and CPU, everything else I am 100% sure that is functional). The monitor is also guaranteed to be functional.
Please help, I am so done with this🙁(
