Question Brightness flashing using Xbox game bar ?

I used the ASUS armoury crate widget on the Xbox game bar app to change the setting from silent to turbo and the widget didn’t work properly and selected Windows balanced plan, but on AC it was stuck between balanced plan and turbo, the screen was flashing between the two brightness levels as turbo I had the screen brightness set to max.

I closed the Xbox game bar and AC and then selected the turbo plan and it worked fine. I have restarted the device and all the plans through AC select normally and the screen brightness works as normal.

Two things:

1. Will the brightness flickering have done any ongoing damage to the device?
2. Do I need to reset the device back to factory settings?

As I said, everything seems normal now – I think there is a fault with the AC widget for the Xbox game bar app which I won’t use moving forwards.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

"AC" being Armory Crate - correct?

I would not expect that the flickering did any damage especially if you stopped the flickering.

If all is now working well ("normal") then I would not change anything.

Just watch and wait with occassional Googles to look for other newer links.

Do write down or otherwise save relevant configuration settings. If the flickering returns then you can look back see what changed.

Also take a look into Reliabilty History/Monitor and Event Viewer. You may discover some error codes, warnings, or informational events that associate with the flickering.

Yes, apologies, AC is Armoury Crate.

There were no errors in reliability history and it only happened with the AC widget on Xbox game bar. As soon as I stopped using the widget and went back to AC through start menu it works fine.
