Brightness hotkey will only increase to 24% and nothing else. IT wont go higher but will go lower.

I own a Sony VAIO VPCEH3QFX laptop its a 2012 year, recent install of windows 10 on an SSD. Everythign is workign correctly but the brightness hotkey. It has a default maximum brightness of 24 percent. For some reason the brightness will go up and down but the max brightness is 24 percent using the hotkey. I am running 1809 upgrade on it? Any solutions on why its stuck at a max of 24% would be appreciated.

To me that sounds like a power setting issue. Go into your power settings and adjust maximum brightness for your power profile.
