Hi all,

I have a gigabyte Brix Pro i7 now which has replaced my dead laptop that only moved when I went abroad. In order for me to be able to use the brix pro on the go I was thinking to get this ASUS USB powered FullHD monitor.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried this setup where the USB powered monitor is the primary display. Also any advice will be appreciated.

The price on Amazon has been reduced of the monitor to £147

Here's the link

Thanks in advance

Should be fine for general use. USB monitors tend to have a lower refresh rate due to a normal one though so scrolling and the like won't be as smooth.

Thanks for the advice and the link.

I have been using this setup for a while and I have to say I am really impressed by the USB screen.

I was experiencing lag issues with the monitor for a while at first but when I went onto the displaylink website, updated the drivers and tweaked a few settings I can hardly notice the lag. I would go far as to say it is unnoticeable. Even while playing FPS games.

With this screen, the gigabyte brix pro has become a great portable solutiuon. I used it on the train with ease and it handles different light environments well with it's "ASUS AI Light" feature. And the Auto rotate function is amazing for when viewing documents.

One thing to note though is that this thing wont show you your bios and will only activate when at your login screen.

here are some pics:

As you can see, when on the train i can leave the brix in my bag (it doesn't get too hot) and just take the screen and plug out.

I don't regret this purchase at all.

Now all i need is a battery for this and it will be perfect!!
