Broken Lan Cable

I recently bought a 5m lan cable from ccl and when i moved my router to the other side of the room the cable would not work. i tried the same cable without streching it out and it wouldnt work. a different lan cable does work however

So what is your question? The lan cable you bought maybe faulty, yes. Return it. Or you didn't have it plugged in far enough.

the cable worked before i moved my router.


ps the question was whether it was broken

Unless you have a cable tester or a multi meter, you won't really have a chance of knowing if the cable is faulty.
Replace the cable with a known working one and see if the router went faulty.
If it works in the same port then put the "broken" one back in and make sure its firmly pushed in and see if it works.
If it doesn't the cable was damaged and you should throw it away.
