first of all, hello. So, I got this almost elderly Asus h61 that came on a prebuilt pc which I bought 2 years ago, and accidentally during one of its cleaning, while plugging the case pins, I hit the motherboard and broke the pwrbtn circuit. Although, shorting the pwrbtn circuit with a screwdriver would still turn on the power supply, so I could yet turn the PC on. Recently, after a travel to my temp job, the PC wouldn't even turn on at all.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the broken circuit, but don't really know if it's worth fixing it up.

I'm sharing it looking for possible repairs and further knowledge about it.

But then I would have to do it with the 24pin cable unplugged from the mobo, and plug it while the power supply is already on? I guess I could try it while I can't afford new hardware, if u could explain a little better how I can do that, I would appreciate. :)
Green and Black on that connector start PSU (even without it being connected to MB) and stays on while connected.

Ina pinch you could use Green and any black wire on 20/24 pin main power input to MB.
